I was always told that humpbacks came up here in the summer to fatten up and headed to warmer climates to breed and have babies. It turns out that they leave the “teenagers” here in the cold water to eat all winter. We have Whales cruising along in the passages just chowing down, or scraping barnacles off their hide all winter long. They don’t pay too much attention to us and go about their business so I get to see them up close and personal quite often. It is always a thrill.
